Internet of things - a Revolution in Itself

New technologies will rise to prime and the existing ones will mature and plateau. One of the phrases to look forward to in 2016 is “Internet of Things” and “Smart Home”.

The idea that all things are connected to the internet and are able to communicate with each other with the main controls in the hands of a person’s smart phone is the main idea behind Internet of Things (IoT). For example, with the help of an application downloaded on one’s smart phone, a person can control several things in the house. Things like unlocking the front door automatically as one approaches or the kettle turning on at the sound of the morning alarm clock.

Samsung is leading the trend in these technologies after having acquired IoT(Internet of Things) Company Smart Things in 2014. This Korean Firm is now all set to offer products for the entire house that can be connected to a smart phone.

Companies like Apple and Samsung are embracing the Internet of Things and have made their platforms open to developers who can manufacture products that are compatible with Apple and Samsung’s software.
