Infosys shortlisted by Welsh Water

Infosys a pioneer in IT outsourcing, consulting and next generation service made an announcement that it has been selected by Welsh Water to administer the entire purchase and delivery of its IT services for a period of ten years. This is one of the biggest IT deals in the water utility sector in the UK.

The fourth largest company in Wales, Welsh Water is well-known for supplying about 828 million litres of water every day to almost three million people. This agreement will require Infosys to oversee the entire IT ecosystem of Welsh Water like server and storage management, managing critical network links, administering database platform and much more. Infosys has entered into an alliance with Vodafone to provide smooth communication service over the entire infrastructure to be managed by it.

Infosys was shortlisted by Welsh Water was because of its next generation services framework AiKiDo. AiKiDo is created to help clients with the restoration of existing IT landscape, addition of new business models and in the process develops a culture of IT innovation in the organization. Welsh Water has already invested 1.5 billion pounds in the last five years and plans to invest more to bolster its plan for growth.
