Siemens Building Technologies Division and IBM launched a cloud-based solution to build smart buildings to bring about a change in the real estate segment. This will help to productively merge the virtual and real world within the building environment. Siemens is harnessing the power of IBM’s Watson IoT Business Unit and integrating it into its cloud-based Navigator energy platform.

The corporate real estate owners and operators will have access to huge amount of data on Siemens’ Navigator platform to monitor building performance and calculate operational budgets. Fault detection and identification of future problems will become easier with the help of predictive analysis. Analytics for utility invoice validation and text recognition can be used to find billing errors. Moreover, mobile applications can be used for energy audits and generate audit reports from anywhere.

The integration of Siemens Navigator platform with IBM’s IoT technologies will enhance the real estate portfolios of customers by providing them access to robust data sets and advanced analytics.
