AT&T to bolster IoT Connectivity by joining hands with Sierra Wireless

Sierra Wireless has entered into an alliance with AT&T to support their LTE- M network technologies. The company envisages on augmenting the Internet-of-Things (IoT) by connecting everyday devices to the internet. According to the Senior Vice-President of AT&T, this partnership will them help harness the power of LTE-M to serve their clients using the Internet of Things.

LTE-M was formally known as Cat-M1under the GSM Association provides a good quality LTE coverage along with a long battery life and low cost for gateway modules connected to the LTE network. According to Dan Schieler, of Sierra Wireless, LTE-M will give leverage to millions of IoT devices and services that run on low –power and cost –effective cellular connectivity. The success of this alliance will bolster the OEM solution segment of Sierra Wireless. The company plans to play a pivotal role by heralding the gen-next level of connectivity in the field of Internet of Things.
