LinkedIn Top Executive Becomes Microsoft CTO

Microsoft recently announced that they have appointed LinkedIn SVP Kevin Scott as their new CTO (Chief Technology Officer). According to the tech giant Microsoft, this latest promotion of LinkedIn Senior Vice President of Infrastructure is a move that will drive strategic and cross-company initiatives between them and their business social networking platform.

Kevin Scott will now report directly to the Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella as well as remain a crucial part of LinkedIn’s executive management team. Last year on June 13, Microsoft announced their plans to acquire LinkedIn. The deal was completed by paying around $26.4 billion on 8th December, 2016.

Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella said,”We are thrilled that Kevin will bring to Microsoft his unique expertise developing platforms and services that empower people and organizations. Kevin’s first area of focus is to bring together the world’s leading professional network and professional cloud.”

Prior to join up with LinkedIn in 2011, Kevin Scott worked with a number key tech companies, including few years with Google and AdMob.
