Google has announced a new app called PhotoScan that will help in the digitization of old photos easily. Smartphone users prefer to digitize their old photos in order to preserve memories. The digitization process using photo scan will comprise on the quality of the image to some extent but it will definitely be better than a phone camera.

The market is flooded with smartphone scanner apps but they are mostly optimized for documents and not for photos. PhotoScan helps to scan the photographs intelligently and even straightens and stitches images. Photos once scanned can be stored in the internal memory and shared. However, PhotoScan does not automatically upload to Google Photos.  Google Photos will be getting a new photo editing feature soon.
