The Brand Finance Global 500 list named Google the world’s most valuable brand. Apple got knocked to the second place after a 5 year reign at the top. Google’s brand value stands at $109 billion against that of $107 billion for Apple.
The biggest reason for Apple’s brand value downgrade despite successful business growth has been the “failure to maintain technological advantage” with brands like Samsung and Huawei breathing down its neck. In comparison Google remains the lord of the search business market with not many challengers in sight.
Coming third in the brand value list is Amazon with a valuation of $106 billion, followed by A&T and Microsoft in 4th and 5th place respectively. Samsung secured the 6th position and Facebook makes a remarkable jump by 8 places to rank 9th in the global brand valuation list.
The Brand Finance Global 500 list is an annual ranking of global brands based on value and power.
