KSUM (Kerala Startup Mission) along with the state of Kerala will co-host the FabLab Asia Network conference, in Kochi for the first time in the month of January this year. KSUM already has two MIT Fab labs one at Techno park and the other at Ernakulum. It envisages on purchasing more mini Fab Labs to be supplied to Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cells (IEDC) in engineering colleges.
This conference will also showcase the best projects of IEDC under KSUM. The conference will be addressed by many well- known speakers comprising of entrepreneurs, technocrats and industry expert. MIT professor Neil Gershenfeld who founded Fab Lab will also be speaking at the event.
KSUM is the technology partner of the KMB and has opened a space for showcasing Fab Lab skills called ‘Maker Cafe’ at Mill Hall in Mattancherry.
