Gartner has recognized Bangladesh among the top 30 outsourcing destinations in the world. Bangladesh has become a hub for freelancers who work via online marketplaces. The reason behind this growth is the country’s population who are very receptive to the latest technology. The Daily Star and Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services organized an event to recognize the efforts of four organizations and four individuals for their contribution to the country’s ICT industry. ICT industry comprises of the biggest export sector in Bangladesh.
The global management consultancy firm A.T.Kearney’s index comprising of top fifty offshoring destinations has Bangladesh in the 26th place. Bangladesh has become a great hub for freelancers .The Asian Development Bank along with the World Bank and the governments finance ministry in Bangladesh has undertaken a project to train and empower about 59,000 IT professionals over the next few years.
