The multinational technology giant Apple is now planning to introduce IP68 rating in iPhone 8 series which is set to release this year, according to various reports. The iPhone 7’s models now have IP67 rating which means the phone can take immersion up to 1 metre for about 30 minutes and IP68 rating means that the phone can stand immersion up to 1.5 meters for about the same time.

However, in the smartphones market, other companies like Sony moved much faster than Apple by adapting IP69 rating which ensures nearly 99% water-proofing. It is also suggested that the 10th-anniversary edition of Apple iPhone 8 will be coming in a stainless steel chassis and an all glass body.

The reports also suggest that the tech giant is expected to go to the next level by making bezel-less curved OLED displays for their iPhone 8 series.
