Apple joins hand with Donate Life America to upgrade iOS 10

Apple iOS will henceforth allow users to become an organ donor using their smartphone. Apple has entered into an alliance with Donate Life America to introduce a button in its Health App so that iPhone users can easily enlist themselves as organ donors by registering into the National Donate Life Registry. This can be a availed by anybody interested in becoming an organ or a tissue donor. According to Apple’s Chief Operating Officer, Jeff Williams, this is a simple process which can help in saving many lives.

Apple’s Health App helps users to regularly monitor medical and fitness data and also caters to medical emergencies. This step is looked upon as a giant step to help save lives. In America, more than 120,000 people are in need of organ donation. Donate Life America believes it can leverage the power of iPhones to generate an interest among individuals to donate organs. This upgraded version of the app will be made available along with iOS 10 operating system which will be launched this year in the fall.
