AT&T Inc and Sun Power Corporation have entered into an alliance to integrate SunPower’s home energy solution, SunPower Equinox with AT&T’s Internet of Things (IoT) technology. According to the deal, both the companies will wirelessly connect about 10,000 solar electric systems in the United States. This will give customers easy access to system performance using AT&T’s IoT capabilities.
The SunPower Equinox is capable of transmitting seventy percentage more energy than traditional solar technology. The Vice President, Internet of Things, AT&T, Mike Troiano, mentioned that IoT will help customers to keep an eye on their homes, vehicles and even solar panels. The company can also get a real-time feedback as to the functioning of the solar energy solutions.
The SunPower Equinox system envisages in providing customers with unbeatable power and long-term performance. According to the President of SunPower, this alliance with AT&T envisages on a future of solar energy management which is simple and cost-effective.
