Oracle in its Slough Data Center, in the UK, will bring in two new services, Platform-as-a-service (Paas) and Infrastructure as a Service (Iaas) to bolster its UK cloud offerings. At present Oracle is providing a spectrum of services like Oracle Database Cloud Service, Oracle Big Data Cloud Service, Oracle Exadata Cloud Service to name a few. It presently provides services to over 500 customers in the U.K.
Thomas Kurian, President of product development at Oracle, comments that the new services will help operational heads to take instant decisions. Using this software, clients will be able to create, test and activate applications faster and at a low cost. Customers will also be able to utilize the potential of Hadoop, to provide a more secure and automated service.
There are about 19 data centers that support Oracle Cloud- Software as a service, including Paas and Infrastructure as a service (Iaas). Oracle is also planning to open a new base at Abu Dhabi to provide services to its customer base at the United Arab Emirates.
