The year 2015 saw a downward trend when spending on hardware dropped by 7.6%. According to Forrester’s research report, this trend will change during 2016 as the spending on PCs, tablets, computer servers, and other hardware will register a surge of 2.4% to $364 billion. The jump will be even bigger in the year 2017.Hardware companies wishing to rule the market will try to roll out those products that bring together increased storage capacity along with computer server and networking capability.
Software related spending will touch the $600 billion mark in the year 2016 according to the report. Investment on software as a service (SaaS) will grow by 24% to $108 billion in the next few months. The internet of –things, cloud apps, analytics and need to go mobile are the key factors paving the way for the growth.
This rebound can be attributed to changes in exchange rates and Windows 10 receiving more than 200 million activations.
