IBM acquires a digital marketing agency and integrates it with IBM Interactive Experience (iX) to become world’s best and biggest digital ad agencies. The Ohio-based company; Resource/Ammirati acquired by IBM has a workforce of 350 personnel. These people will be now become a part of IBM (iX) along with its existing workforce of 10,000 people across 25 offices globally.
Resource/Ammirati will also help in increasing the client base of IBM(iX) by bringing in Sherwin William, White Castle, Nestle to name a few. This acquisition is in line with IBM’s strategic plans to concentrate on business involving Big Data, Analytics, mobile, security, and cloud.
IBM’s goal is to become a “one-stop-shop”, providing IT solutions to its customers. Apart from growth, it is now focusing on providing value-based services to its customers. This is IBM’s second biggest acquisition in 2016 after it procured UStream, a cloud-based video streaming service.
