Dell is selling off Dell Services that provides consultancy services to the health and insurance sectors to the Japanese firm NTT Data for about $3.1 billion which it had procured from Perot Services in the year 2009. This selling off is in line with Dell’s plan to bolster ahead in the field of cloud computing, data storage, virtualization and cloud computing by acquiring EMC Corporation.
This deal will help NTT Data, a one of the biggest technology service companies to augment its position in the US market by venturing into healthcare, insurance and IT. According to the President and CEO of NTT Data Corp, Toshio Iwamoto, this deal will leverage its position in the IT market and will also be a precursor to a strong alliance with Dell.
Dell is also thinking about selling Quest Software a pioneer in IT management software provider and SonicWall, a security solution provider for $4 billion. This will help Dell to fund its acquisition of EMC Corp.
