Twitter launched Twitter Engage

Twitter launched a new mobile application called Twitter Engage to assist video developers to easily post it to twitter. This will give leverage to the video creators by helping them to address a larger audience and simultaneously make money in the process. This app will also provide information about the number of followers and other vital statistic related to the video.

According to the CEO and co-founder Jack Dorsey, videos are increasingly occupying a place of importance in real- time conversations and the company plans to invest in the development of videos. The company plans to focus on creating a platform for video creation, sharing and also for earning money.

There has been a significant rise in video tweets (more than 50% approx in the last one year) and other social networking sites like Facebook, Snapchat is competing to draw in video contents to their sites. Twitter Engage will allow users to upload videos up to 140 seconds in length.
