Qualcomm recently provided a glance of its next generation modem plans in an event and according to them, the 5G networks will be five times faster by using the maximum cellular frequencies.
As the 5G network is not expected to go live until 2020, Qualcomm’s latest X50 modems will not be available before the first half of 2018. According to Qualcomm, X50 modem holders can experience the download speed up to 5GBps using futuristic beaming signals to devices techniques and millimeter-wave frequencies.
The company announced that in the next few months, the X16 LTE modem series will be available on the consumer device. The X16 will be also integrated into Snapdragon 800 class chips for high-end mobile devices. The company also confirmed that their modem will support LTE-U.
