A Chicago-based organization, Health Care Service Corporation, (HCSC), is planning to outsource its operations related to information technology. The job that the company envisages on outsourcing involves helpdesk support, monitoring and incident resolution. There are some areas that will be outsourced partially consist of cloud and automation. The Chicago-based company, however, did not mention of laying off employees as of now.
According to a Mark Spencer, a spokesperson from HCSC, the company plans to modernize its offerings to meet the changing client expectations. They are planning to invest in the collaborative partnership to leverage their support and service in delivering improved customer services. HSCS further stressed on the fact that their entire process will be divided into two categories, where basic operational work will be outsourced to a partner and work related to critical processes will be managed by the employees of HCSC. Employees, however, dread that the IT work will be sent to an offshore location.
